Kaban ni D_BystandeR: BUHI PA DIAY ANG KBL?

I cannot imagine that years after the brainchild of the political party - KBL - died, there are still people in their right mind having the guts to run for senators under it. It appeared from the records of the Comelec that the acknowledged party president for KBL is former poll commissioner Jaime Opinion but Melchor Chavez, one of the seven applicants for senatorial post insisted that it is Vicente Millora who is their party president. But when asked why he was not present to answer some important questions, Chavez countered that their internal organization is no longer the concern of the commission. The Chairman, Sixto Brillantes, feeling insulted with the blunt reply dismissed them saying that if they feel it is not the commission's concern then they have no business at all to come to the COMELEC. As a result, others signified their decision to switch to other political party. Victor Wood, who rose to fame during his younger days as the country's singing sensation disclosed he will run as independent candidate. Lawyer Oliver Lozano, who is visibly known as a Marcos loyalist lawyer and who also filed his COC was not in the group as he was reported to have earlier withdrawn from the race. But the funny thing that served as a comical intermission was when Norma Nueva, 75, one of the seven senatorial applicants made known her personal declaration to flirt with the Comelec Chairman whose age level is the same as hers. Furthermore, she said she is still marketable and available to the Chairman, just in case. And this provoked laughter among the people milling around. 

As if amused with what he heard and in order to stay away from the controversy "involving the heart," the good Chairman declared he was consequently going to personally inhibit himself from the deliberation of the case of the old lady, Norma Nueva, to which the crowd again burst out into a subdued laughter.
