I've read all the pros and cons and I still prefer or favor the way Vice-Mayor Rodrigo Duterte wants to maintain peace and order in his territory - Davao City. What Conrado De Quiros is trying to point out is good only because it's all in the books and he is following it to the letter. That is why I read one comment saying that it's good for him to be saying that way because it doesn't matter to him if the place outside is bothered by rampant criminality. He is not affected whatever happens outside because he is there enjoying the peace and tranquility inside the confines of his own quarters and he is free to write articles to articulate his thoughts as against Duterte who is fighting in all fronts just to be able to maintain peace in his place and to provide peace of mind to his constituents that they are not bothered by a carnapping gang who has already victimized 14 vehicles which the authorities confiscated from a warehouse where carnapped vehicles were secretly stored. The comparison given by CDQ between Naga City of the late DILG Secretary Robredo and Davao City of Vice-Mayor Duterte is that they largely differ in the manner where peace and order is maintained and achieved with the former using the normal methods governed by our democratic laws while the latter is bent on adapting the antiquated law of the Western movies where the services of"bounty hunters" are employed. (Duterte makes the headline for announcing his P5M reward to whoever captures dead or alive Ryan "Baktin" Yu, a Davao carnap gangleader). The comparison as to which between the two places got a better peaceful atmosphere is now being narrowed down to one because of the shooting to death of its mayor in Naga City. The position being taken by Duterte to maintain peace in his City with "iron fist" is what frightens the criminals and, inversely, provided peace of mind to his constituents and is something which cannot be replicated in any other place. The role that Duterte wants to have and in fact was already doing it for quite sometime is not an easy job because it needs a strong character with a strong determination on his part to wage a "no-nonsense" campaign against all forms of criminality but with more emphasis on a particular carnapping gang. And this is not an easy thing for him to do because what is at stake here is his life, name and prestige as a fearless crime fighter. 

The insinuation that somebody tried to drag the name of Duterte's son into the "mess" is unthinkable and yet it is easy to do if the purpose is just to besmirch the father's name and is nothing but merely another form of "unsupported tsismis." But if he got a strong feeling he has incontrovertible facts or evidence in his hands let him come forward and show his "cards?"
