The death of a 42-year old mother named Carlota Cana, 42. and her 20-year old son Christian, 20, at the hands of a criminal who treacherous shot and killed them after midnight of December 25 last year is believed solved with the death of the known suspect, Manuel Cana, 45, at the hands of two unidentified gunmen who shot him while riding a tricycle just recently in Talisay City.

There being no witness in the killing of the mother and son, the suspect remained free as a bird to move around until he was shot to death by the duo. If only crimes are automatically solved this way without reaching the courts, it could be a blessing in disguise as it brings closure to the "unsolved" deaths of the "mother and son."
