I think a little inconvenience will not totally deprive you of your right to use the sidewalk. Think about how many "mouths" you saved by allowing them to make a decent living by using a little space of our sidewalk to display their wares. Pope Francis in his message for the New Year emphatically asked the christian world if they were able to help the poor in the just concluded year of 2013. It's a little source of happiness to feel in our hearts if we did not try to obstruct/impede their small "privilege" to  earn a living by doing their thing in the sidewalk. At least, we have indirectly conformed ourselves to the worldwide call of Pope Francis to help the poor.
