Kaban ni D_BystandeR: PRINSIPE SA SIMBAHAN SI CARDINAL QUEVEDO

From the looks of it, it seems Bong W. is trying to shore up the image of Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma, first, by "floating a flimsy reason" that being the head of the Catholic Church of one of the two large cities in our country - Manila and Cebu - Palma ought to be chosen over Archbishop Quevedo of Cotabato, who was one of the 7 bishops called "Pajero bishops."

He later described in a passive manner as if to tone down what he earlier tried to project in his presentation that, after all, it was not a Pajero but a Toyota Grandia given by GMA to Quevedo, as if to lessen the strength of his argument favoring Palma over Quevedo. But whether it was a Pajero or a Toyota Grandia, those "things" were out of the question as the focus of Pope Francis is to look for those who meet his criteria of doing something for the cause of the "downtrodden" - the poor. I have not heard of anything spectacular about Palma's inclination to help and do something to promote the cause of the poor in Cebu City. When Mayor Mike cut off the water connections to the poor Mahiga Creek dwellers previously allowed to stay in NRA Block 27 in Cebu City after their original houses situated in Mahiga Creek were ordered demolished on orders of Mayor Mike, there was nothing, not even a whimper, was heard from Archbishop Palma to protest to such "inhuman" act committed against the poor. But Tommy O, whose heart beats for the poor,  was there and asked help from his friends in MCWD to reconnect water to the poor informal settlers.

Pope Francis must have some "eyes and ears" who supplied him with pertinent information as to who among his "lieutenants" are best suited to occupy and become the "Prince of the Church."
