The defensive posturing assumed by Bong W. in touching the "much talked about" firing of 3,500 casuals from the city hall as earlier announced explained that political leaning is not the sole criterion as it is to be processed by an evaluation committee. He touched scantily about the families of those casuals to be adversely affected by it but chose not to discuss it extensively as he probably finds it a delicate subject matter fearing that getting deeply into it he might be treading on a path that would earn him the ire of Mayor Mike whom he staunchly defended and promoted in his column during the past campaign period. But a relevant issue connected to that "dreadful task" of firing casuals is largely anchored on a statement by Rama that he does not like partisan people whom he described as "lazy."

His interpretation of casuals becoming lazy is weird  as he could be referring it to casuals told to attend his political gatherings but failed to show their presence there and hence not found actively supporting his candidacy and therefore branded as "lazy." Just like what happened to a group of department heads numbering six in all whom Mayor Mike has explicitly urged to tender their resignation instead of waiting for him to do it for them because they committed a grievous "offense" to his policy that those whom he sees not openly supporting him are his enemies. Regardless of whether the employees just want to maintain that their preferences be kept secret only to themselves to him that is not acceptable which made him to make a vow that if he wins he will consider them like a "marked man."
