Kaban ni D_BystandeR: WALA MAUYONI ANG HEPE SA KAPOLISAN SA DAKBAYAN SA SUGBO???

        

I concur with The FREEMAN editorial vis-a-vis the appointment of Senior Superintendent Mariano Natuel as director of Cebu City Police Office. Time and again, Mayor Mike has made known his preference to another personality to occupy the post but not Natuel.

There is no particular reason advanced by the mayor why preference is to anybody except Natuel. As pointed out, it is probablyMayor Mike's ego and pride that is keeping him deadly obsessed on his decision to shun away Natuel's appointment. But in a larger sense and in a more fitting gesture to reward where merit is due, the mayor's obsession to take another one except Natuel absolutely runs counter to the proposition that "a bird in your hand is better than two birds in the bush." A look at the outstanding performance of CCPO Police chief Mariano Natuel as against the backdrop of high profile incidence of crimes recently experienced in the city which he successfully solved with dispatch has favorably earned public acceptance and approval of his excellent performance.

It would be better for Mayor Mike to shelve his resolve to other urgent priorities which the city needs rather than disturb the good performance of the current police chief.
