Maayo lang na sultihon nimo kay maayo man kang pakabutang, in which case, you have more reason to have a "soft heart" for those who are poor and have birth infirmities. Wa lang tingali kang ka-basa sa balita diin giawhag ni Santo Papa Francis nga kaluy-an nato ang mga pobre ug makililimos. And I cannot blame you for that because most of those who are growing up with all their survival needs at their finger tips do not feel the hardships that is experienced by the poor in their midst. They seem blind to the teachings of Christ and most of them even love to insult and ridicule the hapless state of the poor. And you are one of them.

Footnote: This is about the story of a boy who looks 10 years old but due to some birth infirmities is only a little over  four feet tall in height and is sporting thick eyeglasses. Without his eyeglasses he said he can only see darkness. He is actually 17 years old and his father died when he was four years old. The boy was born with a cataract, which he said can make him blind in the future if left untreated. A cataract is a clouding of the lens inside the eye, which leads to a decrease in vision. It is most frequent cause of blindness and is commonly treated with surgery. The boy was seen one morning yesterday inside a passenger jeepney on F. Ramos St., Cebu City, eliciting reactions from passengers. His voice was hoarse and he could not seem to hit the right notes. He could hardly sing some of the words to "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala," which was popularized by Ogie Alcasid. He only had his hands as his musical instruments, clapping to his beat. Despite his poor performance, a woman gave him a few coins.

The boy, Kenneth Peralta, thanked her before he disembarked and looked for another jeepney. He is enrolled at the Barangay Cogon-Ramos Alternative Learning System (A.L.S.), where he is a second grader. He wants to be a police officer. He does caroling to help augment the income of his 53-year-old mother, who only earns P240 per day as a dishwasher in Mandaue City.
