Kaban ni D_BystandeR: ANG SUBO NGA KAMATUORAN SA PAKISUSI SA SENADO
It's a sad reality that people who
are believed more "influenced" by the BRSC inquiry against Binay are
now clamoring for Binay to submit himself to the mercy of the BRSC (BlueRibbon
Sub-Committee), whose panelists, Trillanes and Cayetano, are already widely
known and perceived to have prejudged Binay, regardless of whether Binay will attend
their sponsored inquiry or not. Binay has already answered point by point all
the charges hurled against him in the PICC forum. We have to be guided by the
reality that this BRSC inquiry is only made
"in aid of legislation." It has no power to declare guilt or
innocence except that it has in its hands ample power to destroy somebody's image
the way it wants to do. The panelists have all the parliamentary powers in their
hands to favor the accuser or to deliberately cut off a testimony of a witness
they believed he comes to represent Binay in a manner that the said witness
will lose his bearing for he is being unjustly demonized. Ernesto Mercado is
given a "red-carpet" treatment by the two panelist even if what
Mercado is doing is to dump all manufactured and unsubstantiated allegations
against Binay.and before the TV audience it is easy to destroy Binay's name
just like what Mercado is doing now. But can you trust Mercado? As he was
pictured by a testimony of a former Makati City Administrator, this man -
Mercado - is a kind of gambler who is ready to sell his soul to the devil, just
so he can go on with his gambling binge! He lost millions in the casino and now
he just wants to destroy Binay with the kind of evil motive that a gambler of
his stature can do. The case against Binay is already in the Ombudsman and let
us wait for the proper court to handle its
own investigation based on the accepted legal procedures where the accused is
given the chance to present his side to refute and disprove all the charges
filed against him. And besides, this Senate inquiry is only wasting the
taxpayers money to the tune of P50M per day. And we cannot afford to squander
our limited resources just to go on
endlessly with this useless political circus exhibited by politicians of the
ruling party to destroy the chances of Binay to become the next Malacanang
caretaker when P-Noy's term expires in 2016. When P-Noy asked Drilon to windup
the senate inquiry to redirect its efforts to more fruitful legislative agenda
to solve more pressing problems affecting the nation and the people, maybe the
President has already realized how our lawmakers have just wasted the golden opportunity to work for more meaningful
focus to improve the lot of the common man. The President's message is a
wake-up call to the Senate leadership under Drilon to shape up or ship out!
