There was a time I remember when
somebody posted something in the comment portion of The FREEMAN that TF
editorial is handled and written by Bobit Avila. He writes smoothly, I know
that. But it is one thing to write well and
to have a mind like somebody who does not accept defeat of his chosen idea.
Before the City Council's approval, a similar TF editorial was published where
it showed its strong objection to the creation of "bike lanes." But
we do not expect our City Council, being a group composed of independent-minded
city lawmakers, will be swayed and dictated into following TF's editorial way
of injecting its "2-cents worth" of suggestion. I believe the council has chosen the most popular,
reasonable, acceptable and doable idea to give-in to the people's demand. For
the TF editorial to insist that it has the upper-hand and greater wisdom to
embrace the idea against "bike lanes"
is the most common blunder committed by some people who already consider
themselves as "infallible" and the others who do not listen to them are
all "incompetent" to make the right decision.
Footnote: This
comment came out in connection with a TF editorial entitled, "The
continuing folly of the city council," which came out on 11/03/14.
