Kaban ni D_BystandeR: MITALIWAN NA SI KANHI SENADOR JUAN FLAVIER

Senator Juan Flavier, 79, was a role model in "shining armor" and as a member of the rare breed of almost extinct tribes of good, honest and dedicated public servants, whose hands were not  involved in any kind of anomaly, not like the latter generation of lawmakers where most of them have their eyes focused on how to get rich quick at the expense of public service.

Footnote: This comment came out in connection with a news item in Philstar headlined, "Noy, FVR visit Flavier wake," which appeared on 11/01/14. And somebody remarked (it was former Sen. Ramon Magsaysay Jr.) who said when he visited Sen. Flavier in his modest house sometime in 2005, he noticed that Sen. Flavier still lived in his house built in the 1960's which is a far cry from some of our senators involved in the PDAF scam where one senator was said to have built a mansion estimated to cost P300M. And another senator was said to have donated  a coffin worth P1M when his best friend-actor Rudy Fernandez  died, and this senator became popular with a series of movies where he appeared as, "Ang Panday."
