I appreciate the opinion given by Atty. Frank in relation to Jun Pe's situation. He got it right when he said it's not the time for his political opponents to gloat because he still got a "fighting chance." Fighting his way up even up to the doors of the Supreme Court is a long way to go and if there's no definite decision obtained up to election day his votes has to be counted and credited to his name. And if he is given a fresh mandate by the electorate before a decision is handed down then it will be just like what happened to Mike Rama's friend suspended governor Gwen who was not affected by the harsh realities of being convicted by the Ombudsman of committing "grave misconduct" in office for she was "saved by the bell." And besides, if Jun Pe has done nothing wrong or was not in any way connected to any criminal offense that could consequently disqualify his candidacy then all the elements of his being eligible to accept a new mandate is there for him to uphold.

 In the States, it's different. As long as the people want you to stick to your elected office and they like the kind of service you give them there is no term limit except for the office of the President which is limited up to two terms only.
