 While the nation doesn't belittle the contribution of the 

late Jaime Cardinal Sin in rousing the people from apathy urging them to support with their warm bodies the two main protagonists of the 1986 people power revolution, Juan Ponce Enrile and Fidel Ramos who were then holding up at Camp Aguinaldo, the time was ripe then for the people's uprising against the Marcos regime anyway. This nonentity was there and one of the nameless and faceless multitudes that voluntarily went there not because a cardinal told us as the signs of the time drove us to. Cory Aquino who was cheated in the snap election, and three years before that her "walang kalaban-laban na kabiyak" Ninoy Aquino was murdered upon his return from exile. Events have conspired that led to EDSA revolt. Well, Sin's invitation helped motivate the people but with or without him in the radio, the people like this nonentity, were marching anyway like the throngs that accompanied Martin Luther King, Jr. when he made the  "I have a dream" address in Washington or the Salt March led by the iconic Mohandas "Mahatma" Gandhi, and ready for whatever the future holds for us then. I was much younger that time and doesn't think much about personal safety. All I can dimly remember now is that the beloved Cory was everything in our minds and that only she at that time can unite the nation against the dictator which she did with flying colors. This belief that in the roles played by the cardinal at EDSA (Oh, forget the 2nd one which was a sham) perhaps instilled in the minds of the people why the church has so much clout in the past administrations but no longer under PNoy. But our gratitude still for the cardinal's historical role in uniting the country against the Marcos conjugal dictatorship.

While it is true that the events that followed after the cold-bloodied murder of Ninoy Aquino at the tarmac 3 years before EDSA I and the unifying image and leadership of democratic icon Cory played a big role in capturing the desired result, it also merited a righteous place in our hearts to be highly thankful and to acknowledge the spiritual contribution of Cardinal Sin in making that EDSA I a success for obtaining our emancipation from the shackles of martial law in a bloodless revolution.

Magtatampo usab siya isip magsusulat sa nasudnong magasin,  "Philippines Free Press" ug sa mga nag-unang peryodiko dinhi sa dakbayan sa Sugbo sa lunhaw pa ang iyang pangedaron. Nahimo siyang mamumuo sa usa ka pribadong kompaniya sa dakbayan sa Sugbo, ESCAÑO LINES, sulod sa napulo ug duha (12) ka tuig  dayon niyang tapon  ngadto sa NAPOCOR  ug nahimong kawani sa kagamhanan  sulod sa bayente dos (22) ka tuig.
