Ninoy was therefore consi dered a traitor by his NP partymates, and that self-serving act of his was never a character of a patriot. Was it?  When Ninoy found out about the Sabah-Jabiddah case, he became obsessed of using it as a political issue for the downfall of Marcos and in effect to bolster Ninoy's presidential ambition. Ninoy made the Jabiddah news a persisting international issue, and that was a shame and not good for the country's Sabah claim. It was a very unpatriotic act but a big political gain for Ninoy.  No wise person will ever consider that political speeches of Ninoy can be the basis for him to become a patriot. Those were mere political speeches of an overly ambitious politician! Yes, Ninoy was killed and his killing helped ignite a stronger protest against Marcos martial law. But it was only a CONSEQUENCE, and a consequence of an event can never make somebody a patriot. Because a patriot is best measured by his deeds and action during his lifetime. For one to be a  patriot, his deed and action were always favorable to his country and people like what rizal, bonifacio, malvar, luna, del pilar and others did. But Ninoy actions duirng his lifetime were all self-serving for his own political ambition and for the benefite of his family'. How can Ninoy become a patriot? So, tell the people just one action that Nnoy did during his lifetime that was not self-serving to his ambition or family interest. Can you cite one?
