The innovative and generous pro-people outlook of Gus Go has been known to Cebuanos for a longtime. His recent decision to build a medical center in Mandaue City only best augment and described his humanitarian outlook for the good of the Cebuano public in general with the said medical center aimed to serve the hospital needs of the poor middle class who comprised the biggest segment of our populace. And this came at a time when 26 government hospitals in the country are threatened by the recent filing of a bill in the Lower House and as well as in the Senate to make them become under the management of a private corporation where government funding from the national government will be stopped and medical services will by then become a scarce commodity for the poor and the needy as hospital charges are expected to go up beyond their reach. 

This drove the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Davao City to pass a resolution recently criticizing the national leadership for filing such measures that if approved will make lives of the poor more difficult to imagine, and  also intended as eye-opener for the congressmen and  senators that what they are doing along this line is "anti-people!"
