This is unthinkable! Blake Springsteen, 22 is charged of choking and stabbing his mother and left her for dead in a ditch was ordered held Saturday without bond on a charge of attempted murder. Cook County prosecutors said in court Saturday the mother of Blake Springsteen, 22, told police she and her son argued Monday at the home they shared in 3600 block of Floorsmoor Road. Springsteen shoved his mother to the floor, then threw her on her bed and choked her, shouting that he was going to kill her because she was "ruining his life," prosecutors said. 

Springsteen walked in to the courtroom, scanned the gallery and lowered his head as prosecutors recited details of his mother's account. Prosecutors said Springsteen wound a laptop cord around his 49-year-old mother's neck and tightened it until she passed out. The woman said that when she walked up, she was locked in the trunk of her car. Prosecutors said Springsteen stopped the car, opened the trunk and stabbed and slashed at his mother, striking her in the neck, hand and face. He then drove to Crete and dumped her into a ditch in 900 block of Columbia Street, prosecutors said. Police searched for Springsteen for several days. He was arrested Thursday after a tipster spotted him walking along his street, prosecutors said. Prosecutors said Springsteen had prior arrests on charges of domestic battery and criminal damage to property. 

He pleaded guilty to the criminal damage charges in 2008 and was sentenced to probation, which he violated a few months later when he was arrested on domestic violence charges, according to court records.
