Pique family seeks P5 million damages in a court proceeding against Bella Ruby Rodriguez who was accused together with her boyfriend, a British national in the kidnapping with homicide of their daughter Ellah Joy Pique which took place two years ago while on her way home after getting out from school with her classmates and offered for a ride home by a man and a woman inside a Pajero SUV. The little girl's body was later on found the following day already dead dumped from a cliff by the sea in a town located scores of kilometers away in one of the southern towns of Cebu. The Pajero vehicle owned by Bella and Ian Charles Griffiths, 51, matched with the description of the Pajero that the two kidnappers used to lure that girl, including the color description but only differed with one of the letters that preceded the license plate numbers, the letter "H" which turned out to be "M." We don't know some evil-minded persons who are out to commit a crime could be so smart as to change something which could prove to be a vital source of "conflict." The letter "H" which some witnesses claimed to have seen in the license plate that preceded the numbers turned out to be "M." And we all know if we want to mislead somebody to escape being pinned by "material evidence" even just a simple stroke to make M to H is easy using a pentel pen or whatever. But conjecture alone is hard to prove faced with the reality that the bone of contention lies on that "crucial" letter M that was made to appear as H. That Pajero was later on reported to have been sold to a scrap dealer in Manila. And her boyfriend did not stay long enough to face his charges in court because he was able to secretly purchase a plane ticket that enabled him to escape unnoticed to his home country in Great Britain. And court order demanding his presence to face the charges in court proved futile because we do not have any extradition treaty with Britain. And this lady Bella Rodriguez could not be located for sometime and it took a careful sleuthing by an NBI agent to corner her in a mall in Manila in October 2011 already sporting a different outlook probably to avoid identification but thanks to somebody providing the agent with a "tip" and she was not able to avoid arrest and finally brought back to Cebu to face charges. And the lady seems not to run out of "tricks." In every court hearing you could see a throng of supporters coming to attend it to provide the needed "moral" support with uniformed T-shirts emblazoned with her name and portraying her as "innocent." She has probably no problem with the needed financial support because the British national is free to wire her the needed money to maintain a battery of lawyers and to finance the necessary expenses to maintain a group of supporters provided with transportation facilities in every court hearing. At one time, as if it was not enough that the Pique family has already suffered so much with what happened to their beloved daughter, after one court hearing the father of Ellah Joy, Renante Pique was subjected to "ridiculous comments" by that group of supporters for Bella even when they were already outside the court premises. 

And maybe his guardian angel was keen on providing safety to his life to be able to see the end game of these series of court trials that his wife was able to quickly shout at him to forewarn him that an unidentified supporter of Bella was about to stab his back with an improvised barbecue stick that he was saved and the would-be attacker ran away to avoid identification and arrest. But Pique proceeded to a police station to report that attempt on his life by one of Bella's supporters.
