Kaban ni D_BystandeR: NAHUBOG SA GAHOM???

The municipal council resolution of Dumanjug, Cebu, is a glaring example of how the Garcia family has taken it personally the order to suspend Gwendolyn Garcia from her office as Cebu governor.

In its council resolution signed by all except three municipal councilors who belong to the Liberal Party, they declared Acting Governor Agnes Magpale and Provincial Board Member Arleigh Sitoy as persona non grata, meaning, they are not welcomed to the town of Dumanjug. Since when have the Garcias exclusively owned the public domain of the town of Dumanjug to validly declare as persona non grata in all recklessness the highest public official of the province of Cebu in the person of Governor Agnes Magpale and PB Member Arleigh Sitoy? Their resolution is wrecked of ill-will and is based on the wrong premise that because Magpale is taking over the place of Gwendolyn Garcia the Dumanjug Mayor's sister and because Sitoy is also issuing critical statements against the mayor's sister, they now think they can validly issue that resolution which is all devoid of wisdom and fairness. How could they be so blinded by highly partisan overtures and close family considerations as to consider the valid and  legal takeover of Governor Magpale to the office of the governor through the issuance of a suspension order by the Office of the President on the strength of a case filed by the late Vice Governor Greg Sanchez which was later decided after a series of hearings conducted by DILG which declared the suspended governor Gwendolyn Garcia guilty of usurpation of powers of the Vice Governor. The warning issued by the suspended governor's daughter, lawyer Cristina Frasco that Governor Magpale will be expecting lots of charges filed against her if she disposes or take away the things inside the governor's office that they consider their own personal property and not to the office of the governor. This is the height of distorted kind of justice that could only happen to a family or people who already consider themselves "drunk with power." Don't they know that the power to govern emanates from the people and as such they are just considered instruments by the sovereign people power to wield its power with wisdom, justice and fairness.

We will not be surprised if the people, judging from how they react and behave under the present imbroglio will be the one to render their form of judgment to declare the "entire family of the Garcias" persona  non grata from the whole province of Cebu this coming election that not one of them will ever be trusted to come out to be given the trust of provincial electorate and the entire ticket of the Liberal Party under the leadership of President Noynoy and Junjun Davide, as the next elected Cebu Governor will come out winner in this year's election.
