Kaban ni D_BystandeR: TRAHEDYA SA HUKMANAN

This is the kind of tragedy (costing 3 lives including the Canadian shooter) which could have been prevented if the security guards were properly trained in implementing "security measures." In U.S. airports, everybody is checked to the extent that shoes have to be taken off. And you have to stretch your arms side-wise to preclude anything hidden under your armpit, a thorough check is made in your entire body despite the fact that there is metal detector and an X-ray scanner. The problem is if the guy to be inspected is a foreigner like the shooter who is a Canadian, laxity in the body inspection was probably tolerated because he "looked" respectable. But foreigners should not be exempted from the "rigid inspection" because in America lots of shooting incidents happened like what happened in Newtown, Connecticut, where 20 kids perished plus 8 adults were killed by a lone gunman. And this Canadian shooter was  reported by Bobby Nalzaro as regularly sending him letters expressing  his displeasure with our kind of justice system.

The charges that he faced is negligible because it is only a case of "malicious mischief." But because he was reportedly a "journalist" in his home country, he had high pride and he wanted to presume himself as having the "wisdom" above and higher than the personnel in our justice system. He should not have come here in Cebu in the first place if he finds our justice system "not at par" with what he had in his home country.
